Hard concepts,easy lessons.

I'm a full-stack engineer. I turn software ideas into short lessons. Scroll to meet the first one: a working JavaScript event loop, built as a factory you can run.

Lesson 01JavaScript

The eventloop, as afactory.

Every machine here was modelled and lit in Blender, then loaded into this page. Click it to switch it on. Add your own functions and watch where they go.

How it was made

Not code.Built.

1
Model

Hundreds of objects, bevelled and built one by one in Blender: tower, cranes, belts and halls.

2
Light

Cycles bakes the sun, the sky and the soft shadows into three 4096 px images, shown here.

3
Rig

Cranes, lift, wheel, belts and crates are separate parts, moved live by the event loop.

4
Run

A small engine plays the real rules of the loop. It matched Node.js on 299 of 300 random test programs.

Who I am

Hi,I'mFahmeed.

I'm a full-stack software engineer based in Pakistan, with five years of experience. I build Shopify and BigCommerce apps for merchants, web apps from front to back, and interactive 3D on the web. Then I turn the hard parts into short lessons on YouTube.

Scroll: what I do
What I do01 / 04

What I do: build, commerce, 3D, teach

Production grade full stack applications.

I build full stack applications that are ready for real users, and I take them through the whole software development lifecycle: planning, design, build, testing, release and upkeep. The screen you click, the API behind it, and the database under it.

B2B e-commerce on Shopify and BigCommerce.

I have worked on almost every area of Shopify and BigCommerce: theme extensions, customer account extensions, Shopify Functions, admin extensions and custom public apps, plus B2B products where merchants sell to other businesses.

Immersive 3D, not just 3D.

I use my experience in three.js, WebGL and Blender to build immersive, creative websites. The models are made in Blender, drawn in the browser with three.js, and directed with GSAP, so scrolling tells a story. You are scrolling one right now.

Short lessons on YouTube.

Hard concepts, easy lessons. I turn the hard parts of what I build into short animated lessons, so a tricky idea takes a few minutes to understand. Find them at @FahmeedQayyum.

Full stack01 / 05

The full stack, layer by layer.

Where I have done it.

Follow one request down through five layers.

Some of it is live and some is no longer public. Where I cannot show code, I explain the problem and the approach.

API
The API behind it.

The services the screen talks to: REST APIs, an API gateway, Python backends and the Shopify and BigCommerce APIs.

Auth
Who is allowed in.

Signing in and knowing who is asking, wired into the applications I have built.

  • Authentication inside web applications
  • Customer accounts on Shopify stores

Payments
Where money moves.

Payment flows connected to the app, so a customer can pay and the app knows it happened.

  • Stripe integrations in web and mobile apps
  • Shopify Functions for custom store logic

Cloud
Where it all runs.

The cloud that holds it up: AWS serverless services, cloud storage and the integrations between them.

The studio

Where lessons get made.

My desk, my camera corner and the line every lesson travels along.

Scroll along the line: from a rough idea at the desk to a lesson on YouTube and a post on LinkedIn.

Idea
Pick one hard idea.

Each lesson starts with one hard idea. I research it, run the code myself, and keep only what I can show working.

ResearchRun the code
Script
Write it in plain words.

The script is short, plain sentences, so a tricky idea takes only a few minutes to follow.

Record
Record the voice.

I record the narration at my desk. Then the audio is checked against the script, sentence by sentence, so each picture lands on the right words.

Build
Build the video with code.

Scenes, captions and animations are built with code and rendered into the final video. Then come the Shorts, thumbnails, titles and descriptions.

Lessons go to YouTube. Shorts, carousels, GIFs and dev log posts go to LinkedIn.

Learn

I learn by experimenting with new tools and sharing what I find, as lessons on YouTube and dev logs on LinkedIn.

New lessons land on the channel. Dev logs and carousels land on LinkedIn. Or run the lesson again, or climb back up the tower.
